Renee Rivers, RMHCI

Renée Rivers, M.Ed., RMHCI, is a dedicated and compassionate therapist at Genesis Counseling, providing therapy in our Coral Springs office and virtually throughout Florida. She specializes in sexual trauma recovery, adjustment challenges for young adults, and improving communication in family and couples therapy, creating a safe and supportive environment for healing and personal growth.

Renée earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida A&M University and is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in Florida, actively completing her licensure hours. She believes in the power of genuine connection and trust between therapist and client, fostering open and honest communication that empowers individuals to navigate life’s challenges.

Her trauma-informed and client-centered approach incorporates Trauma-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address negative thought patterns, and Person-Centered Therapy to create a space where clients feel understood and supported. Renée’s training includes treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use, and complex trauma, helping clients build resilience and long-term coping skills.

Renée specializes in working with survivors of sexual trauma, guiding them through the healing process with compassion and empowerment. She is also passionate about helping young adults transition into independence, navigate self-identity, relationships, and career-related stressors, and develop healthy coping mechanisms for life’s uncertainties.

Her approach is highly individualized, ensuring that each client’s therapeutic journey is tailored to their unique goals and needs. She believes in her clients’ capacity for growth, healing, and transformation, working collaboratively to help them achieve a sense of wholeness and fulfillment.

As an Independent Contractor with Genesis Counseling, Renée is in-network with United Healthcare, Optum, Cigna, Aetna, Florida Blue / BCBS, and Tricare. She also offers private pay sessions, with fees ranging from $125–$175. Renee can be found on Psychology Today.
