Adult Therapist (All Ages)
Wellington Office
Emma Carter is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) in the state of Florida, providing therapy at Genesis Counseling’s Wellington office and offering virtual sessions throughout Florida. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2024 and works with clients ages 7 and up.
Emma especially enjoys working with teens, adolescents, and young adults, supporting clients as they navigate identity development, emotional challenges, and important life transitions. She has a particular clinical focus on substance use and recovery, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and identity concerns, stress management and emotional regulation, and transitional periods that often bring uncertainty or overwhelm.
Her clinical approach is warm, relational, strengths-based, and client-centered. Emma focuses on helping clients build insight, emotional regulation skills, and sustainable change. While she tailors treatment to each individual, she commonly integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based strategies, and solution-focused interventions. She prioritizes creating a clear, collaborative, and supportive therapeutic process that meets clients where they are while guiding them toward their goals.
Emma has clinical experience working with life transitions, identity development, anxiety and depression, stress management and emotional regulation, substance use and recovery support, co-occurring mental health concerns, personality disorder traits, LGBTQ+ population and college student-related challenges. She has worked with adults and emerging adults in residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings, as well as college-aged clients navigating academic, relational, and emotional stressors. Emma has also supported individuals with trauma histories, attachment wounds, burnout, and major identity or life changes.
Emma works with individuals experiencing concerns related to anxiety, depression, social anxiety, self-esteem, body image, school-related issues, sports-related performance anxiety, addiction and recovery, adoption, and adjustment challenges. She draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including person-centered and humanistic approaches, CBT, DBT, EMDR-informed care, motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy, emotional regulation skills, art-based techniques, and mindfulness practices.
As a Clinical Staff Therapist with Genesis Counseling, Emma is in-network with United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, FL Blue (BCBS), Curative, and Tricare East, and she also accepts private pay clients, with session fees ranging from $175–$275.
She offers in-person sessions in Wellington and virtual therapy, providing individualized, evidence-based care to support clients at every stage of their journey.
