Our Psychiatric and Medication Management Approach: What to Expect
Psychiatric care is a collaborative process that goes beyond simply prescribing medication for us at Genesis Counseling. Our team focuses on understanding your unique story and working with you to develop a plan that promotes long-term well-being.
1. Initial Psychiatric Evaluation
Your first session involves a thorough assessment of your symptoms, medical history, and goals. This helps your provider determine the most appropriate treatment options for you.
2. Individualized Treatment Planning
You’ll receive a personalized plan that may include medication management, brief supportive therapy, and lifestyle recommendations. Treatment is always collaborative and designed around your goals.
3. Follow-Up & Medication Management
We provide consistent follow-up to ensure your medications are effective and well-tolerated:
- 2-week follow-up: After starting or adjusting medications (especially stimulants or antidepressants).
- 4-week visits: Once stability begins to improve.
- 3-month follow-ups: For ongoing medication management (or more frequent if needed).
- Monthly visits: For those prescribed stimulants, even after stabilization.
Your care plan is always personalized and flexible, based on your clinical progress and comfort.
