Student Internship Program

Genesis Counseling is proud to partner with Lynn University, University of Central Florida, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University to provide practicum opportunities for graduate students pursuing their Master’s Degrees in Psychology, Marriage & Family Counseling, Clinical Social Work, and Mental Health Counseling.

As part of our commitment to excellence in mental health care, student interns at Genesis Counseling receive full-time supervision from both licensed Qualified Supervisors on-site at Genesis Counseling and through their designated universities. This dual-supervision model ensures that interns are fully supported, guided, and evaluated as they apply their clinical skills to working with clients.

Student interns at Genesis Counseling:

  • Have completed most master’s-level coursework in their field of study.
  • Have demonstrated core clinical competencies and been approved by their university to begin hands-on training.
  • Receive ongoing guidance, supervision, and evaluation to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Work directly with a clinical supervision team that assists in assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.

Interns at Genesis Counseling provide counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. They work with a diverse client population, addressing concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, family dynamics, relationship challenges, child and adolescent issues, and more. By choosing to work with a student intern, clients receive the added benefit of an experienced clinical team reviewing and overseeing their care to ensure a comprehensive and effective treatment approach.

Genesis Counseling is dedicated to empowering clients through healing and growth, providing a supportive and compassionate environment where individuals and families can explore new possibilities. Our Student Intern Program not only enhances access to affordable and high-quality mental health care but also helps train and develop the next generation of skilled mental health professionals.

All student interns at Genesis Counseling adhere to the ethical guidelines of their profession and comply with the Genesis Counseling Agreement, Internship Supervision Agreement, and Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA).
