Candance Gilberstadt, LCSW, takes a compassionate, person-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy. Candance enjoys working with couples navigating relationship challenges and communication difficulties, as well as adults experiencing complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) and anxiety. Candance strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and validated throughout the therapeutic process.

Candance earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2015 and a Master of Science in Psychology in 2017 from the University of North Florida, followed by a Master of Social Work from Albany State University in 2019. Clinical experience began in 2017 at a children’s advocacy center, working with children and families who had experienced trauma. Candance later provided therapy to children and families at a community mental health agency before transitioning to working exclusively with adults in 2021, focusing on CPTSD and anxiety.

Her therapeutic approach emphasizes identifying client strengths, fostering self-understanding, and shifting from a problem-focused perspective toward a solution-focused one. She incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Gottman Method to support individuals and couples in working toward meaningful, lasting change. Candance completed basic EMDR training in 2022 and a refresher course in 2025 and is currently working toward EMDR certification. She also completed Gottman Method Level 1 training in 2023 and Level 2 training in 2024.

Throughout the therapeutic process, Candance aims to help clients develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotional responses, and life experiences. She works collaboratively with each client to build on existing strengths, navigate relationship challenges, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s difficulties, with the goal of experiencing life’s ups and downs with less distress.
