Kristin Waite, RMHCI

Kristin Waite, RMHCI, is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern at Genesis Counseling, providing therapy at the Coral Springs office and virtually throughout Florida. She earned her Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2025.

Kristin works with children, teens, and young adults, with a particular focus on supporting neurodivergent children, including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a Certified AutPlay Therapy Provider, she integrates play, art, and sand tray therapy to help children express emotions, build social connection, and develop emotional regulation in a safe and engaging environment.

Her clinical approach is integrative, blending creative modalities such as Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy with evidence-based techniques including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-based interventions. Kristin also incorporates person-centered and existential approaches to help clients explore their values, strengthen self-awareness, and foster personal growth.

In session, Kristin values authenticity, safety, and trust—creating a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. She approaches therapy as a collaborative journey, working alongside clients as they build resilience, practice new skills, and recognize their strengths.

With teens and young adults, Kristin helps clients develop coping strategies, manage stress, and navigate transitions with greater confidence and self-understanding. Her goal is to help each client feel heard and capable of creating meaningful change in their lives.

Outside of therapy, Kristin enjoys visiting museums, exploring nature trails, photography, trying new cuisines, and traveling. She brings this same curiosity and sense of exploration into her work, encouraging clients to grow, reflect, and discover new ways to navigate life’s challenges.

Kristin is a clinician with Genesis Counseling and is in-network with United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, Florida Blue (BCBS), Curative, and Tricare East. She also accepts private pay clients, with session rates ranging from $125 to $175.
