Susan Cohen, LCSW

Susan Cohen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida, providing therapy at Genesis Counseling’s Boca Raton office and virtually throughout Florida. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University and brings a thoughtful, grounded, and compassionate presence to her clinical work.

Susan works with clients ages 7 and up, including children, adolescents, adults, and couples. She has specialized training in Gottman Level 1 Couples Therapy, allowing her to help couples improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen emotional connection. She also supports individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and family challenges, as well as older adults experiencing life transitions such as retirement, relocation, and grief.

In session, Susan creates a secure, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered. She encourages clients to take an active role in their therapeutic journey and tailors her approach to meet their unique needs. Her clinical work incorporates motivational interviewing to support change, a strengths-based perspective to enhance self-worth, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with mindfulness to shift unhelpful thought patterns, and trauma-informed care to promote healing and resilience. She also uses solution-focused strategies to help clients achieve specific goals with clarity and direction.

Susan is dedicated to helping her clients build confidence, self-awareness, and the tools they need to face life’s complexities with resilience and compassion—reminding them that meaningful growth takes time, patience, and courage.

As an Independent Contractor with Genesis Counseling, Susan Cohen is in-network with United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, FL Blue (BCBS), Curative, Medicare, and Tricare East, and she also accepts private pay clients, with session fees ranging from $175–$275.
