Sharayne Douglas graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy. She is a Registered Marriage and Family Intern in Florida, diligently working towards completing her licensure hours.

Sharayne has a passion for working with teens and diverse populations. She specializes in helping young adults navigate transitions and challenges related to self-esteem, self-image, and mood disorders. Her expertise extends to providing deeper insights and healing for clients facing family, romantic, and platonic relational issues.

At the core of Sharayne’s practice is the therapeutic alliance, which she values above all else. She ensures a safe space for vulnerability and exploration, believing that each session should provide clients with meaningful insights and practical tools. Her compassionate and empathetic approach fosters trust and mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship.

Sharayne uses an interpersonal and person-centered approach, building rapport and conducting sessions that are culturally sensitive and trauma-informed. She offers a solution-focused and humanistic perspective on therapy, providing psycho-education and tailored tools to support clients both inside and outside of sessions.

With children and teens, Sharayne employs play therapy and art therapy methods to explore the unconscious and foster self-expression. She also incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, mindfulness-based techniques, and motivational interviewing, utilizing her specific training in these modalities to best support her clients’ unique needs.

With over 8 years of experience, Sharayne has worked with children, adults, families, and couples aged 5-35. She has addressed challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, life transitions, grief, communication and relational issues, LGBTQ+ and identity-related concerns. Her clinical experience includes trauma-focused CBT, social issues, and play therapy techniques. As an ASCA-Certified School Counselor, she also addresses academic, behavioral, and social issues for elementary school students.

Sharayne’s goal in therapy is to ensure every client feels truly seen and supported as they navigate their personal healing journeys. She strives to create a space for meaningful conversations and insights that foster growth and self-discovery, empowering clients with the tools and understanding necessary to continue their progress beyond the sessions.

Sharayne Douglas is a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern in the State of Florida. She is an Independent Contractor with Genesis Counseling. Sharayne is In-Network with the following insurance panels: United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, BlueCrossBlueShield, Florida Blue, Humana and Tricare East. Sharayne accepts private pay clients with a range of $125-$175.
