Sara Garone, M.S., LMHC
Clinical Staff Therapist (Ages 13+)
Wellington
Sara Garone is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2022. Sara provides a warm, client-centered approach to therapy, meeting each client where they are and recognizing the connection between mental health, physical well-being, and lifestyle.
Sara particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults, supporting clients through the unique challenges and transitions that can arise during these stages of life. Her clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, complex trauma, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, adjustment concerns, and substance use. She also provides support for individuals navigating sobriety, helping them develop sustainable habits and emotional resilience.
Sara is passionate about helping clients through pivotal moments of change, including career transitions and the challenges of entering adulthood. She understands that beginning therapy can sometimes feel difficult or even forced, and she strives to create a therapeutic space where clients can move from simply participating in treatment to becoming genuinely invested in their own healing and growth.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, with an emphasis on understanding the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms. Sara integrates evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). She also has training in Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed care.
Sara believes that meaningful change can begin with even the smallest breakthrough. She values witnessing incremental growth and helping clients recognize the progress they are making throughout the therapeutic process. Her goal is to provide the supportive space she once wished she had, empowering clients to develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in their own journey.
As a Clinical Staff Therapist with Genesis Counseling, Sara is in-network with United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, FL Blue (BCBS), Curative, and Tricare East, and she also accepts private pay clients, with session fees ranging from $175–$275.
