Alexa Gonzalez is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (RMFTI) in the state of Florida, providing therapy at Genesis Counseling’s Coral Springs office and offering virtual sessions throughout Florida. She earned her Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2024 and specializes in working with children, teens, adolescents, and families.

Alexa is passionate about supporting clients through life’s transitional “in-between” seasons, where identity and direction may feel uncertain. She especially enjoys working with adolescents, college students, and mothers navigating identity, life changes, and evolving roles, while welcoming anyone seeking support during times of growth.

Her clinical approach is warm, energetic, and collaborative, grounded in the belief that therapy is a partnership. She creates a safe, authentic space where clients feel seen, supported, and gently challenged, integrating creativity, humor, and play—especially with children—to foster connection and engagement.

Alexa utilizes an integrative, client-centered approach, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused techniques to provide both insight and practical tools for change. She also has specialized training in Gottman Level 1 for relationship work and EFT Tapping for nervous system regulation, blending evidence-based practices with holistic support.

Her clinical experience includes working in community mental health, supporting individuals and families in high-distress situations. She has worked across the lifespan, helping clients improve communication, navigate conflict, and build emotional regulation skills within family systems.

Alexa works with clients experiencing concerns related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity development, family conflict, parenting challenges, emotional regulation, and relationship dynamics. She is particularly skilled in helping clients build practical communication tools, strengthen relationships, and navigate periods of uncertainty with greater clarity and confidence.

As a Clinical Staff Therapist with Genesis Counseling, Alexa is in-network with United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, Florida Blue (BCBS), Curative, and Tricare East. She also accepts private pay clients, with session fees ranging from $175–$275.

Alexa offers in-person sessions in Coral Springs and virtual therapy, providing individualized, compassionate care to support clients and families at every stage of their journey.
