Lina Budilov graduated from Holy Family University with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (RMFTI) in the state of Florida, working in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Delray Beach and virtually throughout the state. Lina is currently working towards completing her licensure hours. She enjoys working with a wide range of clients from younger children to older adults.
Lina is passionate about working with children and families, providing the support needed in navigating interpersonal conflict, perinatal and postpartum challenges and life transitions. She has nearly a decade of experience working with children and families in a with a range of diagnosis, including ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic coping and trigger management skills. Lina has provided services ina variety of settings to include elementary schools, mental health agencies, virtually, in-home, and in a private practice setting. She has provided individual, couples, family, psychoeducation and group therapy services.
Lina creates an attuned therapeutic relationship with her clients built on trust, empathy and understanding that is essential to treatment. As your therapist, Lina’s goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where the child, adult, couple and family can express and explore thoughts, emotions and behaviors that underlie the internal and external challenges they’re experiencing.
Lina uses various modalities in the treatment of children, adults, couples and families. She gravitates towards expressive and play therapy modalities when working with children, such as SandTray Therapy, guided imagery, sensory play, movement and games, to access expression beyond just verbal communication. Lina draws from a wide variety of cognitive, behavioral and psychodynamic approaches when working with clients, using Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Method, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP), Emotion Coaching and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
Irrespective of age, Lina ais to empower individuals to achieve optimal levels of function, independence, quality of life and spiritual fulfillment, while tailoring her approach to meet the client’s needs. Lina is able to integrate her love of teaching, knowledge of theory and personal life experiences with a heart-felt commitment and empathy to heling my clients gain insights. She believes there is a key to every lock and each client will respond to different approaches. The process of discovery is one of the most essential steps in understanding which key to use in the treatment process.
Lina is formally trained in Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma Informed Yoga, Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy and the Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 & 2. She is a certified Bikram Yoga teacher and integrates movement and meditation into her sessions with children and adults.
Lina is driven by the belief that children, adolescents, adults and families can improve their lives by building meaningful relationships, as it has a fundamental effect on growth, health, the development of functional skills and living life to its fullest. She believes the process of examining thoughts, behaviors and emotions with a trusted therapist allows for the healing of emotional wounds and the emergence of an improved self. Lina values developing a strong therapeutic relationship with all of her clients as she believes it is the basis for personal growth and healing to occur. She makes sure to tailor treatment to each individual client as she maintains ongoing collaboration and communication with them. She understands that individuals are resilient, and they have the power within themselves to gain self-awareness and make positive changes in their lives. Her overall goal is to create a safe and supportive space for important and meaningful conversations to take place. Lina’s goal when working with clients is to understand the problem that has brought them into therapy and to create goals that focus on solving it.
Lina is a Master’s Level, Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in the State of Florida. She is an Independent Contractor with Genesis Counseling. Lina is In-Network with the following insurance panels: United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, BlueCrossBlueShield, Florida Blue, Humana and Tricare East. Lina accepts private pay clients and is able to offer a reduced or sliding scale fee for private pay clients with a range of $125-$175. Lina provides therapy in English and Russian.
