Lauren is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University where she received her Masters degree in clinical mental health counseling. She is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) completing her hours toward licensure. Lauren works out of our Coral Springs office as well as virtually throughout the state of Florida treating adolescents, teens and adults.
Lauren began her professional experience working with mandated clients from the criminal justice system in New York City. Though this is not her desired population to work with, the unique and diverse experience she gained has prepared her to help combat an even wider range of life challenges and mental health issues while maintaining unconditional positive regard for each client. It is her belief that the best therapeutic relationships are based on genuine care and acceptance. Lauren values transparency, authenticity, and humility while working with clients to which she believes, helps to foster a trusting, therapeutic relationship.
As a trauma-focused clinician, Lauren understands how difficult it can be to manage not only cognitive symptoms, but also physiological symptoms and thus, focuses her clinical development and techniques to better meet those needs, beyond just talk therapy. Lauren has found modalities such as, EMDR and Clinical Hypnotherapy to be effective tools in helping clients to more effectively manage their symptoms, stabilize their nervous systems and ultimately, find relief. In addition, she utilizes other techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help client’s develop more productive and positive mindset/thought patterns where they can begin to experience a more fulfilled, and satisfying life.
Lauren has experience dealing with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, sexual disorders, trauma, mood disorders, marital and relationship issues, coparenting, and blended families. Her approach is based on the idea that the meaning we give to our experiences, influences how we see ourselves and the world around us. Lauren hopes to help empower her clients to use their voice to become experts on their own lives and begin living in a way that highlights their values, strengths, and uniqueness.
When working with clients, Lauren’s goal is to offer a personable approach by upholding excellent client communication, and at minimum striving to ensure that each client feels supported and understood throughout the treatment process. It is her true belief, that there is no pinnacle to be reached in the field of mental health and subsequently, she strides to be intentional and consistent with developing her skill-set and evolving as a clinician. Lauren has a growing passion for helping others to succeed and flourish in their identity to which continues to motivate her development and discipline, to better meet your unique treatment needs.
Lauren is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with the State of Florida. She is an Independent Contractor with Genesis Counseling. Lauren is In-Network with the following insurance panels: United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, FL Blue, BCBS, Humana and TriCare. Lauren accepts private pay clients with a fee range of $125- $175.
