Sydney Albro graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Counseling. She is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (RMFTI) in the state of Florida, working in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Delray Beach and virtually throughout the state. Sydney is currently working towards completing her licensure hours. University completing her Master’s Degree in August 2023. Sydney has experience working with children and adults in a community mental health center, a substance abuse and mental health center and in a school setting. She has experience working with adolescents struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, the LGBTQI+ population, women recovering from substance abuse, cultural shifts, first generation Americans, anxiety, depression, adopted children & families and divorce.
Sydney believes that people change when they are hurting. She creates a therapeutic space where her clients can explore and feel their hurt, safely. Sydney values therapy in her professional and personal life. She believes that there is importance in creating and growing an alliance with clients for them to build trust. Sydney sees clients as the experts in their life. She believes that the problem is the problem, not the person. Her clinical approach is to view problems as relational, contextual, and based on cultural/societal norms. Sydney uses mostly collaborative therapy and narrative therapy. Her focus is on how clients have created self-constructed narratives of themselves.
Sydney works with children and adults that are having sport performance issues, couples, individuals dealing with insecurities around food and/or body image, aging adults and transitions, family issues, couples, LGBTQ+ and social justice issues. Her goal is to work with clients to create goals together. She believes that her clients have everything within themselves to create change and that she is present to guide them toward those changes that they want for their life. meet clients where they are and to help them achieve their desired outcomes.
Sydney is a Master’s Level, Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern in the State of Florida. She is an Independent Contractor with Genesis Counseling. Bayla is In-Network with the following insurance panels: United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar, Cigna, Aetna, BlueCrossBlueShield, Florida Blue, Humana and Tricare East. Sydney accepts private pay clients and is able to offer a reduced or sliding scale fee for private pay clients with a range of $125-$175.
